Home page:  

“You never get a second chance at a first impression”. Wise words well worth keeping in mind when thinking how you want your site to look because your home page is your shop window. When visitors arrive at your site you want your Home Page to display your business name, your logo and clearly tell who you are and what your site stands for. It also helps if you have your contact details on your home page as well – or failing that, a “Contact us” link that people can easily find.

Sub Pages: 

Continuity can be maintained by having features from your Home Page common to all sub pages. Not only does this help make navigation round your site easier, but people are immediately aware that all the pages they are looking are part of your ‘shop’. As in this site, we can set your page design so that your logo and contact details are common to all pages.

Here you can see our domain name, logo and contact details prominently displayed at the top of the screen. The benefit to having this style of website display is; the longer a person stays on your site, the more they are associating your company name and logo with what they are looking for. When they are ready to buy and want to proceed to the next step, there is no frustration in then having to find your contact details – it is right there in plain view.

Menu:  

Web page menus are usually either horizontal (tabbed) or vertical in style. Horizontal menus (as in this site) have page tabs running across the top of the screen with sub pages that are accessed by ‘mouse over’ (appear automatically when you roll your mouse over the tab), whilst vertical menus either simply display the links as text (which change colour on mouse over so you know that are links) or have roll-out features that display sub-pages (similar to the horizontal tabbed menu except that the sub pages pop out sideways instead of downwards) on mouse over.
