Note the size and colour of the font and how easy it was to read. Did it contrast well against the background or did you struggle to read what it said?
Fonts & Text
Fonts:
Website font styles are split between two formats: Text fonts and Title fonts.
Text fonts (the majority of your website) uses fonts that are common to all computers. This means your client’s computer can simply draw on the resources already installed rather than downloading extra font information, which in turn means faster page loading.
Title (or graphic) fonts are used to add add individuality and presence to your website are often not usually pre-installed and therefore need to be downloaded along with the rest of your page information. Whilst this slightly increases client page loading time, the effect is minimal if the range of title fonts used through out your website are kept to a minimum. To see the range and styles of the fonts we can use, click here.
NOTE: As each Title font needs only be downloaded once whilst visitors are on your site (and not every time they move to a different page), keeping the same Title font throughout your site improves loading speed.
The easiest way for us to display your text is for you to write the text yourself and then email it across to us. It does not matter whether your text is the content of the email itself or on a document attached to the email. Word is the commonest document format these days and probably the better way to send text as the document first has to be saved to your computer before attaching. This then gives you a copy that can be spell-checked first and also be edited (if required) in the future. What we will do is for accuracy is to upload your text as written directly to your site.
Like text, these are best emailed across to us. Please bear in mind that many pictures are copyrighted images and as such, require the owner’s permission before you can use them on your site.
Part of our web design services is making your pictures suitable for the web. Often this involves reducing the file size or converting to a format best suited for the web. Unless your website have a large number of pictures, the costs for this service is inclusive in our package design quote.
The only exception is for pictures that require digital editing to improve picture quality. This could be anything from straightening a slanted horizon, adjusting / re-balancing the colour, adding digital effects (warping, distorting, air brushing etc.) or creating a montage based on a number of images. Where such work is required, extra costs will be payable and we will inform you first, outline our scale of charges and agree a price with you before hand, rather than hit you with an unexpected bill afterwards!
Animations
We have a good range of animations you can use in your site, however ...
It is a good idea to keep animations to a minimum because whilst they might look good initially, they quickly distract and very soon, end up becoming very annoying!
NOTE: As each Title font needs only be downloaded once whilst visitors are on your site (and not every time they move to a different page), keeping the same Title font throughout your site improves loading speed.

Black text on a dark blue background is a common mistake

DID YOU KNOW ... When writing in a Word document, a spelling mistake (shown by a red zig-zag line under the word) can quickly be corrected by right clicking on the zigzagged word and choosing from the list of options than then appear?
PS If you have just tried it, the function does not work on websites!
